The heart of our anchoring system was dead. In our last episode, the windlass motor failed, leaving us to haul anchor by hand. We needed a fix. Fast. Or our cruising season would be toast.

They call Auckland, New Zealand the City of Sails, and after a month here, we can see why. But beyond the skyline and the sea of masts, we’ve discovered something else: a place where boats, and people, come to be repaired, tested, and maybe even transformed.

Underwater giants, ancient rituals, and a resilient reef hold more lessons than you can imagine, if only we’re perceptive enough to understand them. It’s all amazing, but what really makes a place special is something we didn’t expect.
